This book has been in my hands only a couple of days but it immediately helped pull me out of a dry spell in my morning devotional times. Rich with knowledge and guidance, one can't help but soak in each Scripture reading and find the Spirit nudging. I so appreciate Jan's gentleness with me as an imperfect person; I feel much love and support through her words.I imagine I will be very sad, as if I've lost a friend, once I go through the entirety of these forty meditations. Certainly, I can see using this book over and over. But, it may also be an very useful project for this author to write an annual rendition in like manner. I don't know how I could ever replicate the deep insights her training and experience offer.You WILL be blessed by this book. You will never read the Bible the same again.
This book is great for anyone who wants to allow the Word of God to come alive in them and engage with the Scriptures with the help of the Holy Spirit. I found this book really help me slow down and engage with God through Scripture. I often find if I just read Scripture on its own I fail to engage with God through it. The richness of her work does not stem from her writing skills (although they are evident), but from her obvious personal interactions with the texts of Scripture. Well done!

This has been so helpful to me. Especially as I recover from all the hoops the evangelical church wanted me to leap through.
I do not usually prefer using devotionals as I feel that God's Word stands up strongly enough on its own. But this guide is scripture-focused and the prompts are excellent. It helped me slow down and open up to the Spirit, moving beyond intellectual knowing to savour being with God.
