Great guide to Oahu. Even though this is a book published in October, 2017, there were still quite a few out of date info. i.e. the price of the Honolulu bus system and few restaurant that were permanently closed. Otherwise, this is a very good guide to the island.
Let me start by saying that the Fodor guides are my go-to travel guides (though I do like Lonely Planet too). This one has abundant practical information and the restaurant reviews were the best. My only beef is that it could have been a little thicker with more details about outdoor and other activities.
I’m usually a DK publishing gal when I look for factual books, especially traveling. This one looked interesting online and though I haven’t gotten very far into it, o can already tell it’s going to be much less detailed and meticulous than the DK style I’m used to. I’ll update rating if things get better.
I love Fodors books plus Amazon has the best price around, even better than Costco. I wish the book went over more local Oahu restaurants but it still saved me some money and travel time.
Because this is the latest issue, this Fodor's turned out to be very helpful on our trip. We knew before we went the cost and where might be the best place for our event or meal as well how close to our condo they might be located. The map in back as well as those throughout the book were invaluable as we drove. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Oahu.
