Interesting read but is getting outdated quickly. The advice is common sense with some insights on certain years but nothing that you can't get with a quick Google search. My biggest issue is how short the book is. I read it in a hour (at a slow pace) so was left with the feeling that this should have been an e-book for $2 instead of a $15 paperback.

Excellent insight into model variations and issues to look for. This is a good source for research on porsche 911. Indeed, this book is a must have if you know nothing about Porsche 911. I learned everything I need to know to purchase one. Definitely worth purchasing.

Loved the authors frank discussion about Porsche ownership. He details the feeling and fun involved with a Porsche. This book is a great quick read that I would recommend to future and current Porsche owners!

Great read. Helped me buy my first 911

I found this to be a quite interesting read. I think you can do what the author describes in this book. I don't think it would work for me mainly because I get pretty attached to cars and a porsche would be a special case of that for me. I don't think I could have one and be able to let it go and move on to the next one. If I had the money I would end up with a fleet of them. Probably all of them in various stages of disrepair. Haha. Yep, I would be a mess. But I bet I would be happy!

A great - and fun - read. If you like cars, if the whine of an engine cranks you up, this short book will make you smile from ear to ear. You can feel the power and sense the thrill of carving through turns as the 911 responds. The only problem with the book is that it makes you want to rush out and buy a Porsche! Well done, Mr. McGowan! Well done!

I enjoyed reading about the author’s experience in searching for the dream Porsche. The book doesn’t quite live up to the title of being the “complete guide”.

Let me start out by stating that I’m a skeptic. Over the years I’ve read quite a few “get rich” books. I’m not embarrassed to say that I like the idea of making money. And as much as I like making money, I think I like saving money even more. I was surfing books on wealth and money on Amazon and came across this one. My initial reaction was to roll my eyes and discount it as B.S. However, I kept coming back to it (I liked the cover, duh!) and eventually my resolve faltered and I ordered a copy and honestly, I’m glad I did. The author, Marilyn, actually made good common sense and offered genuine advice and suggestions that I thought were valuable and, more importantly, workable, even for a skeptic like me. Even thought a lot of the suggestions are written with women in mind, I found that they easily worked just as effectively for men - I actually saved money! Also, I was entertained by the author’s writing style. It was crisp, entertaining and humorous. The truth is, this book has already paid for itself (tickets to a show). I commend the author for her good advice and thank her for helping me save some of my greenbacks and to broaden my horizons in the process. I do recommend this book for yourself or as a gift for a friend.

I consider myself a guy who can find a decent bargain, but Marilyn Anderson's book had some seriously good information I hadn't come across before. For that alone, well worth the price. But she also throws in a lot of funny, sometimes juicy anecdotes from her own life. So it's useful AND entertaining. (I got the Kindle edition, BTW.) Some chapters may not interest you but some of them will have you writing stuff down for future reference. In other words, there will stuff in here that made you glad you got the book. She did good work-- both in the research and the writing.

Laugh while you save money! Marilyn provides an informative and entertaining guidebook on how to spice up your free-time without spending a fortune. The first chapter alone showed me how to see Hamilton without spending $600 for a ticket. ($10 anyone? Believe it! Read the book and find out how.) One thing aggravated me, however -- I bought season tickets to the Dorothy Chandler for years to see top plays in LA. If I had the wisdom of Marilyn, I would have saved a fortune!! At the very least, one tip will recoup your expenditure. Perhaps, if you banked the money you would have spent but don't after using her tip, those savings could turn into a million bucks....

I haven't read the whole book yet because there's so much good stuff in it and I can't take advantage of it all at once. But I can tell you that the first tip I got paid off in spades. It was my husband's birthday and I didn't know what to get him. I had just read about the theater lotteries and Book of Mormon was on its last few weeks in town. He would've killed me if I'd spent $250 on tickets for us to see the show. So, we headed over to the theater for the lottery and we won a pair of tickets to the show -- $25 each, front row. And I have to say, they were the best seats in the house! The cast on stage was interacting with us (which I loved!) and we could see everything so clearly -- no binoculars necessary. And, because we just had to know -- we asked the folks in the row right behind us how much they paid -- $125 per ticket. The lottery was fun. There was even a man there who'd been doing the lottery at theaters in all the big cities when he'd be in town and hadn't won ever yet he won while we were there. The whole experience was really fun. And I felt like a millionaire sitting in the front row of such a great show. Thanks, Marilyn for sharing your secrets!

This book is a wow! It has so much information in it, yet it’s fun to read, too. In that way, it’s very different from other “resources” books that inform but don’t entertain. This one is amusing to read while you learn all kinds of ways to save money. It also tells stories from the author that are a hoot. I don’t know if I’m as outgoing as the author, but there are many things in the book that I will be trying in the future thanks to her advice. I can’t wait to go to New York and see shows using her tips. Meanwhile, I’ll be checking out the places online and off that are recommended. It’s a great way to give a boost to your life and your wallet!

This book had me laughing on page one, where Marilyn tells about an acquaintance who, on his deathbed, continued to wonder how Marilyn supported herself. And she does support herself grandly! I especially liked the chapters on going to Broadway plays (for less); travelling (for less); and eating well (for less). And all this stuff is legal! I'm giving this book as birthday gifts to my friends, because, yes, it's the gift that goes on giving.

There is some interesting information here, but also a lot of confusing recommendations to download a lot of programs to facilitate your process. For me, using Scrivener is the most useful "tool" a writer can use. I'd skip this book. For less than the cost of the stuff he recommends to download and use, Scrivener is only $40. The 3 stars is more for his philosophy of "getting to work, stop worrying about all the stuff AFTER writing your book." Write first...always good advice.

I read several books lately about how to write and self publish a book. So I bought this book out of curiosity - what else can I learn? I must say this book made me think. I always want to know all about the topic I'm passionate about therefore I study a lot of materials, read many books, take courses and so on. This book eliminate all the fears about complexity and reduce the overall overwhelm. So it's a great way to start and then, once you publish your first book, go and study details in depth. So I recommend this book to all thinking about writing your own book or those that are stuck with their book for whatever reason.

I found myself slowing down just at the thought of all of this.But in this book Ray Brehm told me that I should just get my book published. I should prepare it for Kindle and then upload it to Amazon, and save it as a draft or a preorder then hit the orange button. There! A publication is born.All of the other stuff can come later. I suspect that it will be easier to ask people to review and get excited about an actually published book than a possible book. I will find it easier to get on social media and writing groups and talk about my book after it is published than before it is published.This is a good book with specific links and instructions. I was perhaps most helped by Brehm's tip that went something like, "Trust me, your first book does not have to be a best seller. It's important to just get that first book up on Amazon."Duly noted. I've taken books I've written off of Amazon over the years without making them better and uploading them so this was a great point. He also had tips to go ahead and run a best seller campaign if that's your goal.

I gave this book 5 stars for a couple of reasons and rated it within the context of what it is--a quick read, not a full-length book. Ray does a great job of conveying the point that you need to get started on what is important first and worry about the details later. This is true--a lot of writers (or anyone in business, for that matter), spend too much time on small details that won't increase their paychecks. This book--compared to several others I've read on writing and publishing for beginners--keeps you moving in the right direction with small steps. If you're looking for a book that tells you every detail you need to know from A-Z, this isn't it, and I don't think it was written to be that kind of book.

I wish I had not wasted my money or time.The majority of this thin book is wasted typeface busily shouting about why one should follow the author's method. I enjoyed it about as much as my last conversation with a used-car salesman.I refer to it as "thin" because there's not much meat on this skeleton.Saver your money and your 90 minutes required to read this.
